About the opportunity for the PHP Developer

We are looking for bright, energetic engineers to join our team full time. 100% Remote UK wide

You will be working directly with the Head of Engineering, CEO and founder, and the rest of the highly skilled and fast growing team on a number of exciting projects with real world beneifit. Balancing the continued growth of our suite of established solutuions and working on greenfield development.

The PHP Developer opportunity will include conceiving and developing backend systems for new and existing applications as they grow and evolve over time, and also updating, optimising and maintaining existing systems and code. The PHP Engineer will be right at the heart of the company and will have every opportunity to grow over right from the outset.

The PHP developer will need to muck in with the team, work hard, learn fast, code well, and be able to share a joke. There will be plenty of opportunity to test your capabilities and learn new skills. We don’t believe in silos, so you won’t be pigeon-holed as a back-ender if you want to experiment in other areas too. We nurture learning and growth.

Technical knowledge for the PHP developer

At a junior level, you will need:

* Confident PHP OOP

* Confident MySQL

* Familiarity with Git basics

* Familiarity with MVC

The following are not essential but are nice-to-haves:

* Experience working with REST APIs

* Familiarity with Angular, React or other JS frameworks

* Lean & Agile

* Scrum

* Familiarity with Linux / Bash

* Familiarity with continuous integration systems and practices

Working skills for the PHP Developer

At a junior level, you will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to:

* Understand and complete tasks on time and on brief

* Think laterally and find smart ways to solve sometimes complex technical problems

* Track down and fix bugs in your own and other people’s code
