Junior Multimedia Producer

We are the multimedia team covering many brands across the emap portfolio. From Motors, Finance, Audio visual, and Food to Property. We work with really capable and  intelligent people and gain huge insight to business and industry while producing great content. There are events. A lot of events! Conferences, awards and trade shows that see us around the country and the world. If you haven’t  done this before,  it isn’t as glamorous as it sounds but we do have a good time whilst working hard.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

This is an entry level job. But is a real fast track to becoming a competent and skilled all round video journalist. We promise to help you develop your skills that will enable you to develop your craft.

We are looking for first of all and most importantly, a good communicator with some experience in video shooting and editing on Final Cut. Enthusiastic and dynamic you will join our tight, knit, supportive multimedia team. We meet lots of senior executives and really smart people at the top of their game so you need to be calm and confident whilst remaining kind and supportive.

We are a great unit and cover a very broad range of business and industry. It is often really very interesting work and with our guidance, you will quickly become comfortable shooting in many scenarios with us on single and multi cam set ups. You will be able to use the A7iv’s and NX5’s and be able to quickly asses any location and learn to light and rig any situation out on the road or in the studio with your eyes closed as well as being able to:

direct, interview light, get clean sound capture and post production on location and in our Croydon studio.

Green screen, autocue, stedicam…the list goes on.

There is also the occasional need to jump in front of the camera or microphone and do some presenting or voice over.

We innovate and present ideas across the board to our clients and colleagues.

Shooting video and occasional stills for a diverse range of B2B and B2C brands. Its varied and tough work with fast turnaround. You will fit in our very well-liked and respected team, working hard with regular long and antisocial hours which includes a lot of overnight and often longer, domestic and international jobs.

You need to be an excellent, diplomatic communicator, be able to do a bit of research and be interested in our brands and will meet everyone from the cleaner to global CEO’s You will be kind and passionate about getting the best performance out of everybody you interact with.

With an eye for strong composition, a good understanding of:

editing in Final Cut and Photoshop. Word XL etc. If you have After Effects skills that is an added bonus.

You will be accurate, creative and healthily obsessive about creating the best possible edit, which can often be on deadline.

Time keeping is paramount to us and planning multiple assignments, prioritising time and organisation is vital. Shoot logistics, managing digital assets and keeping an organised workflow is as important as shooting the job.

You will be in charge of  your own set of equipment and it is important to take care of it. You will be responsible for keeping it safe and undamaged.

We hump a lot of kit so you will need some fitness and stamina. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job.

A passport and UK driving licence is as important as your willingness to solve problems and generally muck in and help out with whatever challenges the assignment brings whilst ensuring your own and others health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Being one of the team, you will start as our 2nd or 3rd shooter on jobs shooting commercial case studies, awards do’s, round tables, panel discussions, single sit downs, coaching, advising, and editing. Accurate and creative editing and representing our clients and customers with care and professionalism. Accurate planning and deadline driven for most of our tasks with studio maintenance and kit checks

Skills and Experience:

A good communicator yet?.

A creative eye, be up to date on emerging trends and social media.

Some experience of shooting and editing with Final cut.

Calm, clear, diplomatic and patient.

Some experience with interviewing lighting and audio.

Active problem solver and solution bringer.

Willing to multitask and help out.

MS suite especially XL.

Mid level Photoshop.

Core Competencies:

Shooting on Sony a7iv, nx5’s.

Audio capture, lighting, directing, producing.

Driving licence.

Good spoken English.

Passport. Able to travel with us or alone to assignments, often overnight or longer.

Possesses physical ability to carry heavy equipment for prolonged period of time.

Able to be active for long periods of time and work diligently while remaining upbeat and positive.

Experience in Final Cut.

Being innovative and confident to suggest new ideas but happy to shoot corporate sit down interviews
