Joinery CAD Draughtsman
Location: Reading
Salary 20K-35K
Production CAD Setter Out required by a leading Joinery manufacturer based in Reading. You will have a proven track record in a shopfitting joinery manufacturing factory environment.
Purpose of the Role:
Reporting directly to the Joinery Managing director, you will be will be expected to convert 2D or 3D design models into full working drawings and provide CNC Programmes and optimisation routines for the manufacturing processes. Ultimately to ensure that our fixtures and services are produced efficiently, to quantity, within time frames allowed and to meet our market leading quality assurance and control levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical development and value engineering
Beam saw optimisation for production and estimating
CNC programming
Liaise with the technical team and seek approvals for any changes suggested to the design models
Advise on and implement contemporary construction techniques.
Quality assurance ensuring that correct and detailed information is obtained, developed and maintained throughout the entire production process. Keep documented system maintained and up to date.
Quality Control and photograph each product once assembled – distribute and action accordingly
Maintain accurate documentation for as built files for each project.
Provide regular updates to the Management team regarding the status of their projects.
You may be asked to execute other tasks which you might not consider part of your day to day duties, if necessary full training will be given.

Person specification:
Excellent communication skills – articulate and focussed, proficient written skills
Great attention to detail
Self-motivated
Demonstrates the ability to forge and maintain relationships over the telephone and face to face
Have had at least 5 years working hands on in a joinery factory environment
Have at least 2 years in a similar position
Competent user of IT systems
Ability to work collaboratively
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience of technical development and value engineering, cnc programming and optimisation of beam saws
Have a sound knowledge of wood manufacturing through finishing, machinery and assembly.
Sound IT skills ranging from Microsoft Office, CAD and Optimising software
Ensure your working area is kept neat and tidy at all times and general housekeeping maintained to assist with health and safety procedures
Report broken or missing equipment/spares/consumables to supervisor/management
Will have a strong understanding of shop-fitting furniture manufacture and preferably have had a hands-on joinery based background from a similar market sector.
