IT Support (French Speaking, 2nd/3rd Line/Manager levels) – Near Edinburgh (Hybrid) – To 35K/40K/50K + Bonus

Lorien’s long-standing, successful and growing client, with offices very commutable from Edinburgh, Fife, West Lothian and surrounding, is looking to recruit a couple of French-Speaking IT/Technical Support specialists (2nd Line, 3rd Line or Manager level) to join their team; roles which have come about thanks to their expansion successes in mainland Europe.

You’ll take the reins as you tackle tickets within a team of 1st to 3rd Line Technical Support staff, contribute towards the smooth running of the team and its ongoing improvement, and be a key hands-on figure and/or leader across support/network issue resolution/software upgrades/migrations and other relevant areas for French-speaking clientele.

An outline of some of the duties involved:

  • Play a key role in the Tech Support team as you tackle tickets from internal and external users
  • Get hands-on across the spectrum of 2nd and/or 3rd line technical support (depending on your level/background/work so far), covering inbound calls, data migrations, Windows and advanced networking issues resolution, database repairs, VM installations, software upgrades, and so on
  • If applicable, take the reins as a supportive Support Manager mentoring less senior team members while still remaining technically hands-on to help with incoming requests and workloads
  • Contribute towards the ongoing improvement of the team, its procedures/processes, the tech they use, etc.
  • Keep up to date with the latest trends, and bring those ideas into the team

The skills/knowledge they’re looking for:

  • Fluency in French is a must-have
  • Background as a 2nd and/or 3rd Line Support specialist / IT Support Engineer / Service Desk personnel / IT Manager / Support Manager / similar
  • Good knowledge of networking, PC Hardware and Config and Windows (some Linux would be great but not a necessity)
  • Ability to liaise with technical staff at any level from different domains and specialisms
