IT Support Assistant

Central Employment are delighted to be working with a leading industrial manufacturer who deal with both domestic and commercial clients. Due to growth they are looking to hire an IT Support Assistant to deal with all IT related queries on site. The role will be very generalised and the ideal candidate will have a background in IT and a passion for solving IT related issues.

Key Responsibilities

Provide assistance in the use of personal computer hardware/software
Set up including installation and configuration of desktop computers, peripherals and mobile devices
The use of imaging software to install Operating Systems and industry specific software
Repair & maintenance of hardware and peripherals
Maintain servers, systems, networks and databases
Networking to include LAN, WAN and WiFi
Maintain the security of the network through hardware and software protocols
Essential Requirements

Good understanding of Microsoft based systems including Windows 7, Windows 10 and Server 2008, 2012
Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
Configuring networks DHCP, DNS and routing
Good problem solving skills and troubleshooting process
Must have excellent communication skills at all levels of the business
Desirable Requirements

MCSE level or equivalent
Good skills in MS access and understanding of SQL
Ideally, you will have further education within IT and may have just completed your first term in a junior support role. You will be reporting in to the IT Manager who will be providing on the job training, support and development.
