International Shipping Executive

PRG are working with an established and international brand to recruit a permanent International Shipping Executive/Advisor on a permanent basis based in their offices in Edinburgh.

Reporting into the Manager who is responsible for the business on an International level this is a rare opportunity for someone who is on the market and looking for a new challenging position.

Based in a busy and dynamic international team this role will involve handling our clients monthly buying cycle, communicating with their international distributors and retailers, placing and tracking orders and answering queries.

The main duties and responsibilities will involve:

• Account management including: setting up new accounts, instructing new distributors on procedures and processes, collecting and collating shipping information, setting up letters of credit, requesting and monitoring payments, creating, tracking and issuing credits in line
• Responsible for management of and communication distributors/retailers within a specified market to include liaising between distributors and marketing team, merchandising and product team
• Placing orders and managing delivery
• Placing orders outside the buy cycle, managing delivery and stock levels
• Providing a high level of customer service, keeping the customer informed at every stage
• Completing invoicing accurately and on time
• Providing analysis and reporting when required
• Management of faults, missing stock, quality of stock and liaising with the relevant department to resolve
• Working on ad hoc projects within the team when required

• Proven track record in International Customer Service/Account Management
• Be able to communicate and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships
• Working knowledge of export documentation and shipping principles
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Highly PC literate
• Be able to work to tight deadlines while remaining calm under pressure
• Good team player with a positive attitude

Desirable experience and skill criteria:

• Be able to communicate fluently in another European language
• Experience of importing consumer goods
• Experience of handling letters of credit
