Interim Operations Manager – 12 Months

Are you an experienced Operations Manager in cost reduction activities? Do you have a technical background in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering? Are you looking for a 12 month contract in Dudley?

I am working with an international business in Dudley, who are urgently looking for an experience Operations Manager. The role is a cost reduction project which will require you to use your excellent skills in both Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering and people management.

The role will require you to:

* Identify and set in motion effective cost reduction activities
* Review Head count and development opportunities
* Exercise your excellent people management skills as an emotionally intelligent leader
* Use a strong background in Manufacturing and Production
* Take responsibility for the UK Manufacturing site
* Receive support from an existing Director, who is managing a mirrored site abroad
* Manage end-to-end supply chain, making sure products are manufactured to lowest cost while maintaining Quality
* Develop manufacturing processes
* Ensure logistics and shipping operations hit delivery targets
* Develop internal and external supplier relations
* Manage operational KPI’s and other measures

The 12 month Operations Manager contract is available on either a Fixed term contract £72,000 per annum + Benefits or a Contractor opportunity with rates to be discussed. To be considered for the Operations Manager role, you will be able to demonstrate skills and experience as follows:

* Influential and driver of business improvement
* Quality & cost driven
* Experience in strategic cost saving roles / projects
* Strong experience in a manufacturing / production environment
* Able to win people over quickly and gain buy in from staff
* Experience in project management and collaborate with others
* Proficient Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, Lean activities
* Also experienced with SMED, TPM, 5S workplace
* Preferably, you will have electromechanical experience
* You may come from the automotive sector or other high volume manufacturing sectors
