I am looking for an interim Head of Development for a large, nationally recognised company in Leeds. This role will be covering the handover from the old Head of Development to the incoming permanent replacement in six months.

This is a high visibility role within the orgonisation, reporting to the IT Director and CIO.

Looking after a team of 40+ people, you will be charged with driving forward and managing daily perfomance of the comapnies in-house Developers, Testers, MI teams and other technical staff.

Responsible for the overall successful operation of the IT development function including the quality and standards of all internal and external software that is built, tested and deployed.
To shape and implement the IT Test strategy and Quality assurance model, working closely with diverse stakeholders to ensure fit for purpose testing and assurance across a complex portfolio, project and product landscape.
To work with closely with IT architecture to ensure alignment of technology roadmaps with appropriate processes, skills and tools
Managing key relationships with strategic partners and suppliers.
Work with IT services to provide (L3) application support to production service problems where required
Support the build of a performance based culture within IT which thrives on innovation and change
Responsible for the mentoring, coaching, management and development of members of staff within the Head of Development function.This role will suit somone with experience leading large software development teams and a working knowlage of programming.

The company delivers projects utilising a well established Scrum methodology, so experience of this is essential.
