We are excited to offer two new positions for Innovation Project Managers. These roles present a unique opportunity to take a leading role in building and shaping our diverse portfolio. The primary responsibility of these positions is coordinating and delivering innovation projects for SGN or the wider energy community.

What will you be doing day to day?

  • Manage and coordinate a range of Innovation projects from conception to completion, utilising the resources available.
  • Identifying new and / or emerging opportunities for the innovation team to stimulate new projects.
  • Support in building relationships across the tech innovation ecosystem and vendor scouting activities.
  • Lead change within the Innovation team and manage change for new projects when shared with the business.
  • Ensure projects are registered and managed through the project funding submission process.
  • Budget management
  • Engagement with other energy networks and solution providers to avoid duplication on government funded projects.
  • Prepare high-quality monthly and ad-hoc reports including visual slide decks.

What you’ll need

You should hold a degree in a relevant discipline or have demonstrable experience.

The technical skills and job knowledge/experience essential in this role are:

  • Awareness of the energy landscape and wider industry
  • Advanced all-round project management and enablement experience; proposition builds, proof of concept, project finalisation and findings.
  • Understanding commercial drivers for new innovations.
  • Clear and concise communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement at all levels.
  • Outcome-oriented: The role holder must be focused on delivering the best outcomes and ready to challenge stakeholders with data-driven recommendations to deliver quickly.
  • Thinking differently: Someone who can challenge the status quo and help influence across SGN to transform our customer relationships and experience.
  • People management and stakeholder skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in innovation strategy, approach, innovation frameworks and methodology
  • Hands-on, technical and recent experience in the development, delivery and implementation of innovation projects
