Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year

Ark Search are working with a fantastic software company in Warwick who are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.

Salary: £48,000 – £60,000per annum

Role responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring optimum performance of the Microsoft Windows Server based estate – performance monitoring, tuning, patch management, & documentation
• Manage and maintain the Hyper-V and VMware Virtualisation environments
• Conforming to appropriate standards, deployment types, automation, and security as required
• Ensure the security of the Microsoft Windows and VMware infrastructure platforms and maintain compliance with all applicable security standards
• Troubleshooting complex issues surrounding the Windows Server estate at both software and hardware levels
• Working with other team members (networks, storage, application) to resolve issues quickly and put measures in place to mitigate reoccurrences

Experience required

• Experienced senior technical resource, highly motivated and capable of understanding and resolving complex technical problems
• Strong understanding of both Microsoft Azure and Microsoft365 cloud services as well as on-premise Windows Server infrastructure, coupled with a general understanding of traditional hosted technologies and approach
• A fundamental understanding of enterprise class storage systems
• A fundamental understanding of networking including LAN and WAN technologies
• Expert knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems (including OS fine tuning, troubleshooting & installation & managing infrastructure services such as DHCP, DNS, DFS
• Strong knowledge of VMware platform
• Understanding of service management tools
