Information Systems Developer – IT Gradutate – Term Time

A leading independent girl’s school in West London is looking to recruit an Information Systems Developer. This is a Term Time only role plus 15 days throughout the school holidays. Looking for a recent IT Graduate, you will be responsible bespoke development to facilitate the achievement of the school’s core mission and to support administrative processes across the organisation. You will also manage and develop the school’s student records database, and administer the school’s online portals for communicating with staff, students, parents, and governors. The

Core Key Responsibilities:

Application and Web Development

* Undertake digital development projects (desktop, mobile, and web) to facilitate the school’s aims, and to own the development process
* Support the school’s Communications Manager in the technical management of the school’s Web presence
* Provide scripting and other technical assistance to ensure the smooth running of the school’s ICT Department

Database Administration and General Information Technology

* Develop and manage the school MIS system to meet the needs of the school for timely and accurate student data and management information
* Manage the technical aspects of the school’s reporting system
* Consult and develop custom solutions as necessary for other data management needs, including applicant data, digital mark books, etc
* Be involved with any project where there is integration with any of the databases
* Work in conjunction with the Network Manager to integrate the databases with other digital platforms
* Be involved with any updates to software that interacts with the databases
* Provide technical support to staff and, occasionally, to parents and students

Key Skills Required:

* Educated to GCSE Level (including A-C in English and Mathematics)
* Educated to degree level in a relevant field – Computer Science, IT, Data Science
* Developing and managing database solutions, particularly MS SQL
* Generating custom reports using tools such as SQL Reporting Services
* Developing data-driven web solutions
* Working flexibly within a team and across departments to develop and complete projects
* Developing and maintaining a network of contacts throughout own work area
* Adapting own skills to new circumstances
* SQL Database Administration
* SQL Reporting Services / MS Business
* Intelligence Development Studio
* Web development using modern tools / languages, such as HTML 5 / CSS, ASP, PHP, Javascript / jQuery
* Excellent MS Office skills, including Excel
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills
