Industrial Engineer

Salary: £16.73 per hour

We excited to be looking for an Industrial Engineer based in Leeds LS11 to work in a busy Manufacturing business reporting into the Group Manufacturing Director. 

We are looking to fill a number of different position and ideally looking for 1 to work 4 on 4 off shift pattern & 1 to work Nights. 

Improving productivity, generating SMV’s (Standard Minute Value), Leading and Implementing Lean and Continuous Improvement Activities and Generating Management Reports.

Main duties:

Work closely with the Operations Teams to ensure a smooth flow of production by creating accurate operational breakdowns and line balancing

Carry out Work Studies / Work Content calculations to Generate accurate SMV’s (Standard Minute Value)

Ensuring labour values and process methods are current and maintained to allow accurate labour/product planning and costings.

Implement method improvements to achieve given SMV

Identify production bottlenecks and work with the Operations Team to remove and/or reduce by interrogating performance data

Advise and assist departmental managers to identify and deliver continuous improvement activities

Define proper work methods for tasks, appropriate processes for work flow activities and key production measures

Lead, Implement and train Lean manufacturing techniques including Continuous Improvement, 5S, SMED, TPM and OEE activities to create a Lean culture on the shop floor

SOP Process audits

Efficiency calculations and reporting – providing key data and ideas for performance improvement

Skills required: 

IMS (Institute of Management Services) Certificate

Excellent IT skills that include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritise work and work under pressure.

Good team player and able to work on own initiative

Customer focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Good telephone manner

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Excellent organisational skills

Good attention to detail and accuracy
