Indirect Tax Manager

Are you an ATT or CTA qualified Tax specialist looking to join a leading, independent firm of chartered accountants?
Using your proven skills within VAT, you will lead a team and deal with International VAT issues, VAT registrations and train them on VAT matters.

The Tax Division comprises approximately 25 people, many of whom are specialists in particular areas of tax, possessing a high level of expertise and working knowledge in their chosen area(s).

The Indirect Tax partner specialises in developing Indirect Tax business in niche areas. Therefore, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of non-specialist clients, taking day-to-day responsibility for the Indirect Tax team and playing a pivotal role in the development of non-specialist corporate client business.

Client Responsibilities
* The Indirect Tax team deals with a broad range of consultancy work emanating from a wide variety of clients; you may be dealing with a TOGC 1, a merger, followed by share issues. The list below includes some of the areas dealt with by the VAT team:
* International VAT issues
* Land, property and construction planning
* There is very little compliance work involved in this role as the majority of VAT returns are handled by another department, it is only the more sensitive or complex returns that will be dealt with by the Indirect Tax department
* Handling of VAT registrations

Person Specification:
* Proven skills in VAT work gained in practice ATT or CTA desirable
* Accounting knowledge
