About us:

We are a dynamic engineering business working in the aerospace market for major airlines and manufacturers. We operate workshop and field-based engineers to provide maintenance and repairs to aircraft tooling and equipment across the UK and Europe. Our head office is based in Poole, Dorset and we have additional offices and workshops at key aerospace hubs in the UK.

About the role:

We are currently looking for a hydraulic engineer to join our established engineering team at our Heathrow workshop. The successful candidate will work across various locations, sometimes travelling to other UK airports. A varied role, the majority of the works will be hydraulically biased, but there will be elements of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical aspects to consider.

Day to day tasks will include delivering planned maintenance and repairs to aircraft ground support equipment and tooling – with a mixture of onsite repairs and workshop activities.

Main duties include:

  • Delivering planned maintenance activities to various types of aircraft equipment and tooling
  • Effectively fault find and problem solve a variety of issues on hydraulic equipment occasionally including mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems
  • Carrying out basic repairs to equipment in accordance with a planned maintenance schedule.
  • Reading engineering drawings and manuals to support fault-finding and identifying spare parts.
  • Working as part of a wider engineering team.
  • Surveying equipment to identify faults and generating reports via our online system.
  • Supporting work activities at other airports or UK sites as required from time to time.
  • Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure jobs are accepted, understood, implemented and closed down efficiently and accurately.

What we are looking for in our candidates:

  • We value a positive personality and can-do attitude over experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to the role and will be committed to delivering excellent customer service
  • Holding a formal engineering or similar qualification would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role is advantageous.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent planning and organisational ability with an analytical approach to problem solving
  • Experienced with IT, demonstrating ability in MS Office – including Email, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Good at communicating with people at all levels

Additional Information:

  • Travel between sites may be a requirement from time to time
  • Full clean driving licence (manual gearbox)
  • Must have right to work in the UK
  • Must be able to gain an airport pass – therefore clean personal record and ability to show previous work/educational history up to 5 years prior with references.
  • This job specification is subject to change in light of contract experience.
