As such this role can be based anywhere in the UK although a central location, would be ideal as you will be auditing field-based activities anywhere in the UK approximately twice a month. Outside of this, you have full flexibility to work from home and/or from one of the 10 UK Offices.
You will report into the Head of HSE and be part of a team of three other advisors covering different areas who will make sure you have the support and guidance to get up to speed quickly.
Responsibilities include:
- Your role will be to provide HSEQ expertise within the water team who are a field team out on projects every day. The role covers projects happening all over the UK as well as European offices in Poland, Italy, Germany and Greece. These are managed remotely, and travel here would be once a year maximum.
- The role will have responsibilities for the management of the field teams risk assessment processes, method statements and guidance, requiring a familiarisation with the activities they undertake in the field and appraisal of the issues and risks faced.
- The job will be varied but a key aspect is the auditing. You will manage the auditing of the field teams against company procedures, identifying areas for improvement and training requirements. They have an IMS and as part of that there are an amount of internal audits that must take place so it is your responsibility to ensure these happen.
- Outside of planning the audits, the day to day can be really varied, you could be checking office compliance in the European offices one day, investigating accidents, right through to answering queries and questions that come in from the team.
The person-
- Minimum of NEBOSH Certificate with a few years’ experience as an advisor.
- Any lead auditor qualification would be a bonus but auditing experience is essential.
- Experience dealing with people who are on or near water and remote workers would be advantageous but other transferable sectors will be considered.
- Someone who is confident to get on with the job, is organised and thorough, who can manage and prioritise workload but be adaptable to meet tight project deadlines and work under pressure.
- Someone with a can-do attitude, good collaborator and communication skills.
- Able to build relationships, effectively manage stakeholders, including keeping others up to date with progress.
The salary in offer is £35-45,000 depending on experience, plus package.
