Housing Fraud Investigator

One of our clients is looking for a housing fraud investigator on a temporary contract till next your April.

Must have experience working with a local authority within housing.

JOB PURPOSE;

To proactively carry out housing fraud investigations, audit and inspections of council owned properties, review of right to buy applications and other case files in line with an agreed brief to detect subletting, fraud and other illegal activity and if necessary take appropriate criminal and civil action.

Identify weaknesses in the housing administration system and develop and processes to reduce the risk and incidences of fraud.

Provide training in matters relating to housing fraud to officers, elected members and third parties such as RSLs.

Work with partner agencies to prevent crime and disorder.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES;

To work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives/targets.

To participate in One to One Performance Development.

Reviews/Appraisals and contribute to the identification of your own and team development needs.

At the discretion of the Head of Service, other activities as may from time to time may be agreed, consistent with the nature of the job described above.
