Our client, an organisation that provides student accommodation to international students, is currently recruiting for a day receptionist for their 4* boutique hotel called ‘The Club’
Working in stunning surroundings based in the heart of Bloomsbury, this role is responsible being the first point of contact for guests.
This is a full time role and the successful candidate would be required to work five shifts per week on a rota basis to include weekends and bank holidays, The shift times vary but the earliest starts at 7am and the latest finishes at 11pm. The shifts are 8 hours long.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
To ensure all guests receive a warm, positive welcome
To answer all phone calls and transfer calls to the correct line
To be responsible for check in and check out guests
Respond to a wide range of request and enquiries
Promote facilities to students and visitors
Ensure the reception area is kept clean and tidy at all times
Manage invoicing payments and cash operations during the day shift.
Check the room report and keep housekeeping informed of any modifications.
To take reservations and business enquiries when the reservations office is closed.
To become competent and confident in the use of a range of IT systems.
To become familiar with local places to dine out, general information on the local area, directions, traffic & travel updates, timetables etc.
Accept delivery and sort the post including packages and parcels.
Have operational knowledge of all front of house services and know how to access these services to meet the guest requirements.
Ensure that reception is constantly staffed and kept immaculate at all times.
Complete a daily end of shift report.
Become a First Aider and Fire Marshal (training given) and carry out evacuation procedures.
Any other duties which may be reasonably requested.
To offer a portage service to guests (this is over four floors) and help visitors to store suitcases and luggage.
Occasionally cover the two receptions at the College if required.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous reception experience, ideally in a hotel or hospitality background.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and be IT literate on all MS office packages.
A real passion for providing excellent customer services is a must!
A great telephone manner
Knowledge of a guest booking system is a benefit!
IT literate including Microsoft Outlook and Brilliant or similar hotel booking systems
Knowledge of StarRez is a benefit
