Hotel Bookings and Contracting Manager

Salary: £33,600per annum

My client is a leading wholesaler of European tours within the UK Leisure Travel Industry. They are looking for an experienced Hotel Bookings and Contracting Manager to join their team, ideally someone who speaks one or two European languages in addition to English (ideally French, German or Italian).

Job Purpose:

Sourcing group space at suitable hotel accomodation, according to customer requests. Contracting hotel rate agreements, negotiating rates to reduce costs and maximise profits but ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing suitable hotel accommodatoion according to ad-hoc client booking requests
Negotiating wholesale group rates within budget, ensuring workable booking conditions for ad-hoc hotel reservations
Administrative duties – provisional booking of hotels, booking confirmations, updating hotel database, ensuring hotel paperwork is received, confirmed and filed
Identifying destinations and periods where hotel allocations may be required
Negotiating hotel rates to reduce costs and maximise profits
Pre-booking allocations, maintaining contact information
Hotel inspections when required
Sourcing hotel images and creating hotel descriptions when required
Building and maintaining relationships with hotels and hotel suppliers
Developing hotel portfolio, identifying new hotel product within set budget#
Agreeing wholesale group pricing and conditions for targeted hotel product to be used for promotion and ad-hoc reservations
Working closely with Product, Sales and Business Development teams to identify business opportunities
Resolving any booking, customer service or contractual issues with suppliers
Working to deadlines Requirements for this role:

At least 2 year’s experience within Hotel Purchasing/Contracting
At least 1 year’s management experience within Hotel Purchasing/Contracting
Fluent English speaker ideally with 2 additional European languages (French,German or Italian). One additional language may be considered.
Highly motivated and a self-starter
Able to work within a team and also on own intiative
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent communication skills, written and oral
Decision-maker
Commercially aware
Good geographical knowledge of UK & Europe
