Hospitality & Catering Trainer / Assessor – Cambridgeshire Region

This is an excellent opportunity to change direction in your Hospitality career and train to become an Assessor, or for an experienced Assessor to join a strong and growing company.It is preferred that candidates are qualified Assessors and hold the TAQA, CAVA, A1 or D32 / D33 Assessor award although this is not essential as for the right candidates the company are willing to offer training.

We are looking to expand our Work-Based Learning team and are seeking a suitable candidate who is looking to become a Hospitality & Catering Trainer/Assessor to provide learners in their workplaces with support and training, enabling them to realise their career potential. Our ideal candidate location for this role is Cambridge, Newmarket to cover the Cambridge area.

The position is a full-time, permanent role of 35 hours per week. This is a field based role consists of travelling to various Hospitality & Catering establishments in the Cambridgeshire area in order to assess and coach learners through their Hospitality NVQ/QCF qualifications. You therefore need to live somewhere easily accessible to this region and be prepared to travel within it using your own car.

This role will involve assessing Apprenticeships in Hospitality. This will also include delivering Functional Skills and Technical Certificates. You will be required to take a caseload of approximately 45 learners with whom you will have regular meetings to support them through the qualification process. This will involve regular visits to the learners’ place of employment as well as supporting them remotely.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you have experience of working within the Hospitality and Catering industry to a supervisory or management level with GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.You will also need recent experience of working in the Hospitality Industry.

For this vacancy we are looking for strong Hospitality & Catering professionals who specifically have solid Back of House/Chef experience ideally with some Front of House background (Bar Service/ Food Service/ Customer Service) in order to deliver Hospitality Services, Food & Beverage, Food Production and Cooking Qualifications Level 3 desirable.

All Catering and Back of House/Chef professionals (with hands on experience) would make ideal candidates, including those that have experience of work based Learning/Apprenticeships.

A DBS (formerly CRB) check prior to commencement of role will be required.
