Highways Maintenance Operative

Highways Maintenance Operative paying up to £18 per hour in Potters Bar A job has become available for a Highways Maintenance operative with a valid CPC HGV driving licence to join a busy team operating on the M25 motorway.

Applicants to this job are required to have a minimum of a CSCS card and own personal protective equipment including steel toe cap boots and a hard hat.

The job itself involves responding to incidents occurring on the motorway on shift patterns including nights and weekends and to undertake all aspects of highway maintenance works including routine and cyclic maintenance activities and involves but is not limited to the following;

Civil’s works
Winter maintenance operations
Attend work team briefings as required
Drive/operate vehicles/plant requiring general and specialist skills
Take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect members of the public
Carry out appropriate plant and vehicle checks
To complete records and keep all necessary paperwork, communicate and liaise with other employees, Network sub-contractors and the emergency services.
