MacArthur Recruitment is seeking a qualified and / or experienced hands-on HGV Fitter (Garage Manager) who will also manage one other technician. This is with a reputable company where your work will be focussed on quality and not quantity – attention to detail being key.

Main duties and responsibilities for the role of HGV Fitter – Garage Manager:

• Responsible for all garage activity with one technician reporting to you
• Vehicle service/mot scheduling
• Truck and trailer maintenance
• Responsible for all annual vehicle mot’s
• Ensure driver vehicle defects are actioned in a timely manner
• Must be available for vehicle defect call outs (within reason) van provided – these should be few and far between although there will be a few in reality
• Vehicle diagnostic investigation work
• Keen to work with new technology – opportunity to learn
• Promotes a healthy and safe working environment
• Has a high level of HGV maintenance experience

Qualifications and experience for the role of HGV Driver:

• Skilled in vehicle diagnostic investigation work – either time served, apprenticed or experienced
• Class 1 (C + E) licence – for on-road brake testing the vehicles
• Ability to complete paperwork – job cards, service schedules
• Good communication skills
