HGV Class 1 Driver

Our client who specialises in next day delivery services for mail and parcels now has a vacancy for a HGV Class 1 / LGV C+E Driver for Days at their site in Leeds.

Salary: £30,000

Job Role:

To deliver customers products to the required location ensuring the safety of both the customers products and other road users.

Main Responsibilities:

Check security seal on trailer prior to departure.
Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
Ensure all daily checks are undertaken ensuring defects are immediately reported and associated paperwork completed.
Complete all necessary paperwork on time and in full.
Ensure all deliveries are loaded and secure before leaving depot.
Undertake a pre/debrief ensuring all information is relayed to the traffic office
Assist in the loading of vehicles as and when required.
Observe Company rules and procedures as defined in the Driver’s Handbook and other Company Policies and Procedures.
Ensure all delivery and on road issues are reported to the traffic office immediately.

Qualifications / Experience:

Working knowledge of Driving regulations and the Working Time Directive
Must hold a valid Drivers CPC
Must hold the relevant licence for the class of vehicle – C+E Driving licence (Class 1)
Good geographical knowledge
Excellent communicator both face to face and on the phone
Excellent timekeeping
No more than 6 points on your licence.
