Salary: £60,000 – £66,000 per year
Anderson Knight is recruiting exclusively for an SME engineering organisation based near the City Centre of Glasgow. With a turnover of around £15million, our client is searching for a hands-on accountant with a great work ethic who can lead a finance team of around 7 individuals.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the entirety of the finance function within the business and be the go-to individual for multiple senior stakeholders for any financial queries. Due to a change of senior management over the past year, our client has very ambitious growth plans and has predicted a sizable increase in turnover over the next few years. This is due to the business winning several new contracts with clients.
The role is ideal for an individual who is hungry to grow their career and learn new skills. Our client is searching for an individual who will be committed in assisting with the growth of the business and someone who is willing to put the extra hours in.
The main responsibilities the Head of Finance position entails are:
* Leading a team of seven accountants
* Preparing the monthly management accounts
* Liaising with senior stakeholders across the business regarding any financial queries
* Assisting with the growth of the business, providing strategic financial advice
* Delegating work to the finance team to ensure month-end deadlines are completed
* Involved in the negotiating of contracts
* Reviewing internal processes and procedures, suggesting any improvements
In order to be considered for the role you must possess the following:
* An accountancy qualification (CIMA/CA/ACCA)
* Strong communication skills
* A proactive approach to work
* The ability to solve complex problems
* An outgoing personality
* A driven/motivated individual
