An analytical, strategic Head of Buying with strong leadership skills is required for an innovative e-commerce company.

The Head of Buying will work for a company that provides special and often exhilarating experiences to a wide customer base. The business has gone from strength to strength and now has sales in excess of £30 million per year, as well as a 20% growth rate. There are now plans in place to roll out to sister sites throughout Europe.

The Head of Buying will need to be an inventive salesperson, capable of presenting “gifting” as an appealing proposition to companies. You will use your impressive skills to add value to the highly successful online purchasing team.

Key Responsibilities as Head of Buying:

•Developing and implementing the buying strategy, ensuring that the product range is the best in the market
•Working closely with the CFO to develop annual budgets, maximising sales and product margins
•Managing and motivating a small team of senior managers
•Liaising with the marketing team to develop seasonal promotion plans based on historic sales, margin and conversion data
•Monitoring visits, conversion rate and sales data alongside the marketing team to ensure that products delivered by the buying team meet customer requirements

Essential Skills:
•5-6 years’ experience of managing a buying team with outstanding team management and leadership skills
•A minimum of 4 years’ online purchasing experience with a good understanding of e-commerce
•A strong sales background with an excellent commercial understanding and strong negotiation skills
•Strong project management and budgeting skills, with the ability to deliver on time and on budget
•A degree level education is preferred, but all candidates should be graduate calibre
