Bournemouth & Poole College now has an exciting opening for a Head of Apprenticeships to join the team on a full time, permanent basis. In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £49,441.83 per annum.

About the role:

As the Head of Apprenticeships, you will have Strategic Oversight of The Colleges Apprenticeship Provision, and line manage the Apprenticeship Operational Management Team.

Responsibilities as our Head of Apprenticeships will include:

  • Line management of the apprenticeship managers and project co-ordinator
  • Cross-college apprenticeship achievement rates
  • Meeting and exceeding start/funding targets
  • Work collaboratively with Directors of Learning and Learning Managers to ensure the effective management of teaching & learning for staff serviced for apprenticeships.
  • Leading the preparation of the budget and linking this to the curriculum plan for the curriculum area and subsequently monitoring and managing delegated budgets to ensure achievement of financial targets
  • Represent Bournemouth and Poole College at external events and stakeholder groups e.g. the Dorset and Somerset Training Provider Network (DSTPN)
  • Lead the apprenticeship Ofsted inspection
  • Responsibility for and management of the apprenticeships departmental budget
  • Manage community learning courses.
  • Attend stakeholder events.

As our Head of Apprenticeships, you’llideally have:

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
  • A professional or academic qualification
  • A level 5 qualification
  • Relevant assessor and verifier awards or willingness to work towards
  • Experience of Managing teams to deliver programmes in an FE environment
  • Experience of Liaising with external customers/clients
  • Experience of Apprenticeship Funding methodology
  • Experience of Apprenticeship achievement rates (QAR) methodology
  • Experience of Participating in Ofsted inspections
  • Experience of Supervising teams / managing people
  • Experience of Organizing tasks and managing processes
  • Experience of Microsoft Office applications
