We are currently working with a college that offers Higher Education courses in South Somerset. They are looking to hire a lecturer that can teach Levels 4-6 in IT to students aged 18+. The ideal candidate will have previous teaching experience with those levels.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING….
* Providing effective and appropriate delivery of curriculum programmes for students under the direction of the curriculum/programme managers.
* Designing and planning the delivery of components of course/programme within parameters agreed with your curriculum/programme managers.
* Taking part and attending College wide CPD activities events and training.
* Working closely with tutors cross College departments and other College agencies on matters concerning student support and guidance.
* Working with your Curriculum Area Manager and course team, contribute to the setting, achievement and systematic review of objectives to improve the learning experience.
WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR….
Required
* Ability to teach on both Further Education (e.g. Level 3 Extended Diploma in Computing) and Higher-level qualifications (e.g. HND Computing)
* A recognised and appropriate teaching qualification or willingness to work towards achieving this.
* An appropriate degree level qualification (BSc or higher) in a relevant subject area.
* Proven background in successfully working as part of a team.
* Confident in using and applying appropriate up-to-date IT applications as appropriate to your area.
* Ability to teach Programming modules at FE and HE levels (across a range of programming languages)
Desirable
* Experience of participating in curriculum development.
* Experience of teaching within IT curriculum area and study programme management
* A Master’s degree in related subject area and/or vendor qualifications in IT
* Awareness of new methods of teaching e.g. modularisation, resource-based learning.
* Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python)
