Main responsibilities:

 

We are looking for a customer focused and enthusiastic Hardware & Technical Assessment Engineer. The applicant should be technically competent, possess good written and verbal communication skills.

 

The Hardware & Technical Assessment Engineer role will comprise of the below

 

  1. The imaging of Laptops / desktops for deployment to customers and internal break fix teams.
  2. Assessing the technical requirements against customers’ requests & liaising with suppliers for availability and quotes
  3. Evaluating new desktop equipment and recommending additions and amendments to the hardware catalogue
  4. Physical warranty and non-warranty repairs to faulty stock.

 

The role will need to take into consideration of security requirements at the customer at site.

The candidate must be prepared to work on a nuclear licensed site and obtain DV clearance.

Be onsite 100% of the time over a 9 day working fortnight (every other Friday off)

 

 

  • Assess and coordinate requests for non-standard desktop hardware
  • Engage with client support teams to evaluate security restrictions, and with external suppliers for pricing
  • Provide desktop hardware recommendations to the customer based on their business requirements
  • Ensure all requirements are recorded and agreed with end users prior to quotations being provided
  • Evaluate new desktop equipment and provide recommendations to the business leads
  • Process quotation requests within SLA, escalating to the Team Lead and Service Line Lead in advance of any potential breach
  • Build standard and non-standard desktops within the agreed Service Level Targets
  • Undertake the facilitation and physical repair of both warranty and non-warranty desktop equipment
  • Ensure all tickets are managed in accordance to agreed best practices on the account and all activity and customer communication are recorded in the ticket.
  • IT Asset Management
  • Own and maintain a set of processes, knowledge articles and work instructions for the Hardware & Technical Assessment function.
  • Stock Audits on an Ad-hoc basis when the business requires.
  • Adhere to customer policies and procedures at all time’s
  • Technical understanding of Desktop/ Laptop hardware
  • Experienced in fault finding and hardware break/fix repair
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory and SCCM
  • COMPTIA A+ or competently answer technical questions on interview
