Ground Trials Manager

Salary: £22.8 per hour

Hours: 37 hours per week

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Group Trials Manager to join a world class technical engineering company based in Stevenage.

An exciting and challenging role has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Ground Trials Manager. You will be responsible for the delivery of a major weapon system environmental qualification trials programme. You will be required to manage a small team of engineers in the planning, preparation, and delivery of a live Manufacture to Target and Disposal Sequence (MTDS) programme to be conducted at an external Test House.

This is a high-profile role, which will require liaison with the overall project Core team, which includes: Design, Environmental Engineering, Manufacturing, and external stakeholders.

Ideally, previous experience of environmental trials, with S3 trials being a distinct advantage. In addition, experience of managing a team, planning skills using Primavera P6, Time Now Updates and conducting appraisals are highly desirable.

There will also be opportunities for managing and delivering other activities such as live munition drop tests. The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of a critical programme of work that directly supports the Certificate of Design. You will also be representing the Integration and Systems Validation team, as part of a highly motivated and focused joint Italian / UK project team, where collaborative working, and communication skills are key to our success. Skills and qualifications required from the following:

* Degree, HND or HNC qualified in a technical subject such as Physics, Electronics, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical, Communications Engineering, Software or Systems Engineering.

* Knowledge and experience of product development programs

* Experience of work package management delivery

* Knowledge of environmental trials and delivery

* Proactive strategic thinker with enthusiasm, positivity, and drive

* Strong communication and facilitation skills

* Team leadership skills with ability to lead/facilitate multi-disciplined teams to deliver.

You should be able and willing to gain (UK Eyes only) security clearance, potentially to DV level in the future.
