Graduate Web Designer

SUMMARY OF POSITION
As a Graduate/Junior Web Developer you will be creative, passionate and driven by a meticulous attention to detail. It’s an exciting time to join the team as we’re developing our own software application and you will be part of the team tasked with making this project a huge success.

You will be able to work as part of the team but find working alone on a project easy; so you will be self-motivated and have excellent communication skills. You will not need to be an expert in all the systems and web development tools we use, however you love the idea of learning more and developing your skills. Using your HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript skills, you will code and develop versions of the software incorporating the latest functionality. This will allow us to stay ahead of our competitors and as a team collectively deliver a world-class application, excelling our customers’ expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities
– Working closely with internal and external parties to establish software requirements
– Actively contribute to the design of solutions by sharing your creative ideas and concepts
– Develop world-class software; taking into consideration the need for responsive design, mobile/tablet viewing and applications
– Constantly strive to improve software quality and take part in peer-to-peer code reviews
– Develop integration with 3rd party tools and APIs
– Fix bugs and improve software performance
– Maintain a high awareness of industry trends that can help produce enhanced software and applications
– Work on projects as the sole developer or as part of a team
– Build and maintain relationships with internal and external parties to optimise the services we provide
– Take part in performance appraisals, development and learning
– Adhere to company operational and service standards; policies and procedures
– Exceed agreed business and team performance targets and indicators
– Complete all work in accordance with agreed targets and timescales
– Working with your team, deliver a culture of continuous performance improvement
– Ensure all documentation remains confidential in compliance with company’s standards
– Commit to a safe working environment and escalate any health and safety risks
– Support all ISO standards in operation

Person Specification
Relevant experience
– Strong knowledge of HTML5 & CSS3
– Strong knowledge of JavaScript
– Knowledge of C#.NET/ASP.NET
– Knowledge of MS-SQL
– Experience of AngularJS, Bootstrap, D3 would be advantageous
– Experience of WCF/Web services would be advantageous
