GIS Technical Architect

My Client is a leading developer of spatially enabled IT Services. they develop robust, real-world solutions and provide supporting services that create real business benefit. They are looking to recruit a GIS Consultant to work at their offices based in Chippenham and Bristol.

Essential Skill:

* Extensive Experience of GIS software
* Understanding of the software development lifecycle
* Experience of ESRI 10.x software suite
* Knowledge of open source GIS e.g OpenLayers, GeoNetwork, * * GeoServer,PostgreSQL, JQuery
* Knowledge of UK, European & Worldwide GIS Standards ( OGC,INSPIRE,ISO 19115,19119)
* Experience of pre-sales support

Desirable Skill:

* Postgraduate qualifications in Software Engineering
* Experience of MapInfo software
* Knowledge of Safe Software- FME Desktop, FME Server/ Spatial Direct.
* Experience of software engineering methodologies (RUP, RAD)

The successful GIS Consultant will have an excellent overall knowledge of GIS and have particular expertise in the ESRI technology stack and other GIS packages, knowledge of Web development, database technology and technical architectures. The candidate will be comfortable in a client-facing role, acting as a trusted advisor and building long term relationships with clients. You must be prepared and willing to work on customer site, willing to work on defence projects and must have either SC clearance already or be able to obtain it immediately.
