General Manager

Our client is a highly successful manufacturer within the Window & Door industry in South Yorkshire. The business operates in the trade and commercial sectors and is benefiting from substantial investment to manage the growth in sales.

They now require a strong General Manager who holds an accountancy qualification. This is a newly created role and would report to the Chairman of the board. This position will offer a high degree of autonomy, therefore you must have the ability and confidence to make decisions and be capable of taking responsibility. Knowledge of the construction industry is prerequisite.

Key areas are:

FINANCE
Oversee the finance department including debtors meetings, budgets, month end, year end. Accountancy background is essential. Sage 200 knowledge is an advantage. Present the company performance to the board members.

COMMERCIAL
Personally manage the commercial and installation activities. You need to have experience in managing tenders, job costing, variations, subcontractors, in the construction industry.

COST MANAGEMENT
Manage the company’s costs ranging from installation, purchasing, manufacturing, staff and general administration.

GENERAL MANAGEMENT
Provide overall general management to the division heads for ‘on site’ activities such as Order processing, HR, HSE, QA, Finance, Manufacturing / Purchasing, IT, Installation excluding external sales and marketing.

Leading from the front, you must be a strong communicator and have desire to succeed.
