GCSE English Teacher
Foundation Learning
Permanent vacancy – 37 hours per week
£24,577 to £37,017 per annum
Our new GCSE English Teacher will support the delivery of Teaching & Learning activities, promote independent learning outside of the classroom and provide additional, extended, 1:1 and group learning and study activities across Foundation Learning areas. Candidates will be learner and quality-focused; their learners will be constantly stretched and challenged to achieve their full potential and they will accept nothing other than ‘outstanding’ outcomes and levels of performance.
We are looking for a person with the desire to work with disadvantaged young people and the emotional resilience to support them unconditionally. Our new delivery model for Maths and English means that every learner will be in GCSE classes of 12 or less and will also have some additional mentoring sessions in smaller focus groups, therefore providing increased engagement and accessibility to help drive learner achievement.
This post will be based at our Fleets campus, which is a smaller building outside of the main campus, allowing our learners to flourish in an environment tailored to their individual needs. The Foundation Learning department is high performing, caring and supportive, fully equipped to provide excellent teaching and learning, thus providing our students the best opportunity of achieving.
Barnsley College welcome applications from newly qualified teachers, as dedicated support will be provided whatever your level of experience.
Please note you will be directed to the Barnsley College website to complete your application. Closing date for applications Wednesday 6th December 2023 – We reserve the right to close this vacancy early depending on the level of interest.
Barnsley College is committed to creating a dynamic and diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all candidates regardless of their gender, disability, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or faith. Disabled applicants who meet the minimum essential criteria will be guaranteed an interview. The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure from DBS.
Please be aware that it is a Criminal offence to apply for this post if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity in connection to children.
