Furniture / Seating Test Engineer

Salary: £26,400 – £27,600 per year

Furniture/Seating Test Engineer Kettering, Northamptonshire

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week – within the guidelines of the flexible working system, between the hours of 7am and 7pm if required – £22,635 – £23,555 per annum (dependent on experience)

Our Kettering based client is looking for a Furniture/Seating Testing Engineer to work in their Furniture and Floor coverings business area.

Responsibilities:

As a Furniture / Seating Testing Engineer you will be responsible for testing samples of furniture including chairs and sofas, against British and European standards. You will be also be involved at some point in writing reports, booking in samples for testing, planning and agreeing testing schedules. The role will involve setting up sophisticated testing equipment, communicating with customers by telephone and email, ensuring that we provide the highest level of customer service.

Skills and attributes:

Candidates should have at least 5 GCSEs, ideally including Engineering, Maths, English and Science. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the testing of different types of consumer products. Good communication skills are essential, as are practical computer skills. The appointed Engineer will be expected to work to deadlines, produce accurate, detailed test results and work independently when required. Experience of working within a regulated laboratory environment would be an advantage. Flexibility, tenacity and a ‘can-do attitude’ are key requisites of the role.
