Activities involved;

Within this role you will be working as part of a small, dynamic team on our client public web presence, collaborating closely with their designers and marketeers in delivering our message to a worldwide audience in multiple languages.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring our clients have a modern, standards-compliant web presence and championing new front-end technologies that will delight site users.

You will also be required to;

• Each attend at least one developer conference a year
• Run regular coding dojos, technical presentations and guided learning sessions
• Dedicate time for research, innovation and learning
• Regularly focus on improvement in team retrospectives

Ideal candidate will have;

Our clients web estate is primarily PHP based backend with Javascript/JQuery/Bootstrap/Responsive frontend but they’re open minded about different technologies. Id be interested to hear from candidates with a strong interest in web development and demonstrable experience of object oriented software development gained using any modern language. To be considered for this position you must have gained at least a Second Class (Upper) qualification in a Computing or IT based Degree.

You’ll need to demonstrate good experience with:

• HTML5, CSS, Javascript
• Object oriented programming
• PHP

Additionally, experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

• Pear, Composer
• Drupal, WordPress
• jQuery, Bootstrap, other client-side libraries
• Sass
• Responsive design approaches, including mobile-first and progressive enhancement
• MySQL, SQL
• Jenkins, Continuous Integration, automated build and deployment, Continuous Delivery
• Amazon Web Services, Selenium, RESTful web services, Git, Pair programming
