Salary: £14.4for the first hour and £10 for any subsequent hour (Per Job)

DA Languages is a South Manchester based Languages Service Provider established in 1998. We provide verbal interpreting and written translation services across the UK in over 400 languages and dialects. Our clients are in both public and private sector.

The Role

The role of the interpreter is to attend an appointment with a non-English speaker and interpret exactly what the professional (English speaker) and customer (non –English speaker) say. This must be done without changing any of the meanings of the words or without putting your own opinion in. Our appointments are mainly within the medical sector including hospitals, doctors, dentists or they can be home visits with social workers.

The jobs may include interpreting for mental health patients or vulnerable adults and children so must be able to understand and deal with this situation.

Successful applicants must be fluent in English and at least one other language. Ideally you will have previous experience in interpreting but; this is not compulsory.

If candidates applying also hold a community interpreting or DPSI qualification, this would be a great advantage

The Person

Candidates applying must be professional and presentable. You should also be multi lingual and empathetic to customer needs & requirements.

Applicants must have (or be willing to apply for) an ENHANCED DBS Certificate.

Candidates applying should be fluent in one or more of the following languages:-

Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Bulgarian, Chinese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Czech, French, Gujarati, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Kurdish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Nepalese, Pashtu, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Somali, Spanish, Tamil, Turkish, Urdu, Vietnamese.
