Foundation Learning Teacher (Maths) – Barnsley College – Permanent – £24,577 to £37,017 per annum

The Foundation Learning department at Barnsley College has undergone a huge amount of growth over the last few years and we are now looking for a new Teacher to join the team.

£24,577 to £37,017 per annum

Foundation Learning is a provision in place to enable students experiencing barriers to learning to progress onto a higher-level programme where this might not previously have been possible. For our teachers this can be challenging, but also extremely rewarding. We are looking for a with the desire to work with disadvantaged young people and have the emotional resilience to support them unconditionally. We work with class sizes of no more than 16 and often much smaller groups, to ensure that every student is getting the support they need.

You will teach across a range of sessions within the department including Maths at GCSE Level 2. We utilise project-based learning across the provision and are looking for a Teacher who is innovative and willing to take risks to make their sessions engaging and exciting. Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with disengaged young people or have a passion to make a difference, so that our students have a great time at college, achieve their aims and progress into further study or work.

Our Foundation Learning Teacher can be new to teaching or an experienced Teacher, as support will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped to be successful in this role. We are looking for someone who will work hard to transform the lives of our young people and support them onto a positive future.
