Salary: £14.4 per hour
We are delighted to be working with a well-established company set in the heart of Shaftesbury, Dorset. We are looking to recruit an experienced Counterbalance Forklift driver to join their fast-paced team in their busy warehouse.
You will be required to work under the Assistant Warehouse Manager to accomplish and abide by warehouse systems and rules.
Role Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out daily forklift checks (if first on the truck)
- Operating forklifts as authorised & required
- Unloading delivery vehicles and following the goods inwards systems
- Picking component stock to complete stock request emails
- Loading 3rd party vehicles with collections/despatch and loads out
- Carrying out checks on ‘incoming delivery vehicles’ and ‘outgoing delivery vehicles’ and completing the relevant BRC paperwork.
- General stock taking as and when required
- Covering despatch as required
- Preparation of premises for next day’s work.
- Report any FLT repairs that are necessary
- Protecting all company assets.
BRC
- Meter readings
- Block stacking units one, two, three, four, five, six and seven.
- Cold store temperature checks.
- Generator checks
- Site weeding, strimming and general tidying
- Racking checks when authorised
- Fire panel checks
HEALTH AND SAFETY

FOOD HYGIENE (BRC):
- Follow the internal procedures that form the quality management system to ensure product safety, legality, quality and integrity.
- Report any evidence of product safety, legality, quality or integrity to a manager.
- Ensure a good level of cleanliness is maintained – clean as you go.
- Follow the allergen control procedure to avoid any cross contamination.
- Ensure relevant paperwork is completed in full and is clearly legible.
- Maintain a good level of personal hygiene and wear the relevant protective clothing.
HOURS OF WORK
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00 with 30-minute unpaid break. You must have a flexible approach as you will be required to work on a Saturday to meet the client’s needs and requirements.
Rate of pay is £14.4per hour with overtime available.
Transport will be essential due to the location of the job. There is on-site parking for those who have their own vehicles. This is a temporary contract up until the end of the year. However, this could be extended depending on the client’s needs.
