Floral Designer

Salary: £26,000 – £26,400 per year

My client, a luxury FMCG manufacturer and supplier within the Etail sector, is recruiting for a Floral Designer to take the creative lead for new product launches.

The Job:

To plan, create, develop and launch new season ranges for New Year, Spring/Mother’s Day, Summer, Autumn and Christmas.

To coordinate the launch of new products.

To ensure flowers and plants are prepared to specification and look their best for photography, assisting on photoshoots as needed, and work with marketing on new launches.

To keep up to date with competitors and maintain awareness of trends in the market and then identify and share new product opportunities with colleagues proactively and also on request.

To assist with customer research to better understand customer’s product needs and wants action accordingly to bring this to market..

To be a champion for product quality, particularly in the few weeks of a new product launch.

To be proactive in identifying problems with new products and work with quality teams to resolve, ensuring that the product will deliver happiness to the customer and the solution will minimise waste.

To understand which flower and plant products are selling well and which are not (including products in testing).

To work to ensure a full spread of products across all key price points are maintained throughout the year and during peak periods.

To champion new product development, to improve and optimise existing products to maximise sales and profitability.

To use market/industry/customer insights to create and implement a pipeline of ideas for new flower and plant products.

To work with suppliers to source the best quality flowers, at the right cost, when designing.

To prepare the initial costings for all new products in out flower and plant range and be aware of profitability in everything you do.

To source added value products and work with Procurement and Materials Control to ensure that stock meets demand

To plan and attend weekly forecasting meeting.

To work with different teams and departments to ensure new products launches go smoothly.

About you

are an experienced florist or floral designer, preferably in Etail.

You have a Floristry qualification

You are commercially aware.

You have excellent communication and project management skills

You are a confident and capable team player, and highly self-motivated

You are creative and innovative with an eye for detail.

You are able to work in a fast paced environment, meeting deadlines and achieving objectives
