Fire & Security Installation / Service Engineer – Newcastle

Salary: £32,400 – £36,000 per year

My North East based client brings to the market an extensive installation and maintenance facility, with a client portfolio of main contractors, electrical contractors and end users (blue chip organisations and small/medium enterprises). They install and maintain Fire, CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Traffic Management and Safety Systems. They have traded since May 1999 and are a NSI Gold, BAFE and ISO Accredited for industry standards and in addition to these are also accredited with CHAS and Construction line for Health and Safety Matters. The company are now looking for an experienced Fire and Security Engineer to join their team of Engineers to cover the area from North East Northumberland to Ripon in North Yorkshire. The role will involve the installation and servicing of both fire and security systems (intruder alarms, CCTV and access control). The sites are almost exclusively non residential such as retail, factories and educational establishments. The client will train candidates who are currently Fire or Security systems specialist and train them in the other discipline.

General Description

* As an Installation / Service Engineer it will be your responsibility to undertake service and maintenance calls as scheduled by the office, install alterations or complete systems at customer’s premises.

* You will be expected to always demonstrate high levels of professionalism whilst representing the company and build working relationships with our customers / representatives on its behalf at any site where you may attend.

* To consistently promote current and latest industry standards for all relevant BS/EN Norms associated with the Security and Fire Industry.

Knowledge and skills requirements

* You will need to possess a sound understanding of CCTV/Intruder /Access Control and Fire systems

* Posses a clean and current UK Driving Licence

* Be computer literate

* Posses a sound working knowledge of test and commissioning practices

* Preferably hold a current ECS Gold Card, IPAF, PASMA although not essential as training will be given

* Be available and prepared to join the current call out rota for out of hours services (1 in 6 at £135.00 standby and door to door for call and a half)

Basic salary £32,400 – £36,000depending on experience, plus over time and call out, 20 days holiday increasing by 1 day per completed years’ service up to a maximum of 25 days plus all mandatory Bank Holidays. The role also includes a company pension scheme after 6 months full time employment.
