Financial Reporting Manager

Badenoch and Clark are currently recruiting for a leading services organisation in Brighton.

This role is for a technical financial reporting manager and would benefit a technical accountant ideally from practice background with significant PQE.

Key responsibilities include:-
*Responsible for timely and accurate reporting for both statutory and US group reporting purposes for the UK legal entities.
*Actively contribute to the overall corporate governance of those entities, interacting with the Local Board of Directors, Corporate Departments and the European Controller’s Office.
*Review the output from and support the outsourced Genpact team for month end tasks, balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance, etc.
*Operate proactive balance sheet oversight controls and ownership of all UK entity balance sheets.
*Identify and highlight to the Europe Controller risks and opportunities for the entities, either process, tax or business plan related, and work through agreed strategies to address these.
*Work closely with Internal Control teams to respond to internal audit requests complying with SOX procedures.
*Support and coordinate External audit processes for the area of responsibility and build relations with external audit firm.
*Provide guidance on US GAAP accounting in support of Corporate Financial Instructions.
*Manage tax accounting activities to fulfil overall compliance in the area of direct and indirect taxation with internal and external resource and expert support.
*Drive improvements in process and performance by applying LEAN concepts, and implement for Continuous Improvement opportunities.
*Manage ad-hoc projects including liquidations and restructuring of legal entities as appropriate and regular forecasting for UK legal entities.

The Individual

Qualifications
Educated to degree level and with a recognised accounting qualification with significant PQE, the incumbent must be knowledgeable in financial modelling, with an in depth knowledge of a financial reporting environment.

Skills
*A strong technical mind-set, with knowledge of US and UK GAAP reporting in a multinational context is required. Exposure to IFRS will be an advantage.
*The ability to work across a diverse culture is essential, a good understanding of tax accounting and reporting as well as exposure to SAP, HFM and Global Integrator (tax) will be also be a distinct advantage.
*Fluent in English is essential.
