Financial Accountant

Salary: £48,000 per year

Exciting global company currently have a requirement for a ‘Financial Accountant’ – you could be qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience. You will have strong excel and ideally knowledge of SAP & Cognos. The role is responsible for internal reporting and encompasses balance sheet accounts, VAT returns, General ledger journals and tax computations & analysis.

The remit of this role is to supply managers with accurate, timely and meaningful information ensuring reporting to the external authorities is completed on time.

Core Duties include:

• • Prepare schedules for the Monthly Reporting Package. Ensure accuracy and completeness of the reports responsible for producing in accordance with the Month End Timetable. Distribute these reports along with the reports prepared by other members of the Finance department in the monthly reporting pack
  • Prepare internal reports for managers. Verify the accuracy and completeness of the reports prior to distributing them
  • Reconciliation of Balance Sheet control accounts on general ledger. Verify every month/quarter the balances in the accounts responsible for. Investigate discrepancies and take corrective actions where necessary
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns. Ensure accuracy of schedules prior to submission
  • Prepare General Ledger journals for month end, in accordance with the monthly journal lists, and as required
  • Preparation and control of UK accounts.
  • Preparation of annual Tax analysis pack for preparation of Corporation Tax computation
  • Complete Cognos reporting schedules for Forecast and Budget for UK Service and Central Functions in accordance with Divisional reporting Deadlines.
