Finance Officer

Salary: £27,085 – £33,017 per year

A vibrant and dynamic community secondary school, part of a wider multi-academy trust in Nottinghamshire, is seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Officer. The school has undergone a period of significant change during recent years and is now rapidly emerging as an ‘amazing’ local school.

Reporting to the Business & Operations Manager and with a dotted line to the Trust Vice Chief Finance Officer, key aspects of this role will be to assist in the efficient operation of the Trust’s accounting function, including managing the purchase ledger, school bank account and petty cash transactions. You will assist in the preparation of proposed budgets and financial returns, together with monthly financial reporting, internal/external audits and the development of procedures and systems.

The successful candidate will be AAT qualified with experience of using PS Financials. Ideally, you will have previous exposure of managing finances within a school setting, coupled with excellent IT skills. You will possess naturally strong interpersonal and communication skills, and can work effectively both independently or as part of a small team. You will be flexible, dependable and act as the “go to” person for all finance queries relating to the school.
