Job Description

Finance manager position within a forward thinking interior design firm, which specialise in creating positive work environments, that facilitate high levels of efficiency, workflow, safety, and wellbeing. They regularly work with businesses and organisations across multiple sectors, as well as facilities management companies, with the goal of unlocking the potential of internal spaces.

The Finance manager will analyse everyday financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans.

The goal is to enable the company’s leaders to make sound business decisions and meet the company’s objectives.

In this role, you will utilise your expertise in financial analysis and strategic planning, by analysing day-to-day financial activities with precision, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to upper management.

Your guidance will empower the company’s leaders to make informed decisions that align with the organisation’s long-term goals.

Additionally, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing financial plans that support the company’s growth and profitability.

Monitoring financial performance, identifying areas for improvement, and capitalising on opportunities will be integral parts of your responsibilities.

The finance manager has a key role in controlling all aspects of monthly management accounts and associated activities.

In addition to day-to-day management accounting activities, you will also be involved in wider commercial activities together with working on continuous improvement projects.

You will also assist in a range of ongoing projects focusing on continuous improvement initiatives.

Finance Manager Position Overview

  • To understand, review and record the details of projects.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and associated activities for subsidiary companies.
  • Analysis of monthly management accounts.
  • Preparation of reconciliations including Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss
  • Preparation of Budget financial information with key stakeholders
  • Recommend improvements in control processes.
  • Month end and year end activities.
  • Margin analysis, labour analysis & overhead analysis activities.
  • Preparation of weekly management information.
  • Analysing the variances of accounts to budget.
  • Budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Discuss/present results at management meetings.
  • Provision of key support on business projects
  • Coach, advise and teach new employees to improve their knowledge and performance.
  • Keep up to date with H&S, Building Regulations, and relative Construction Legislation and apply same to all projects.
  • Keep abreast of new products and develop working methods to continually improve the performance and processes of the Company.

Agreed Tactical Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Examine financial statements and records to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Support our tax professionals in preparing quarterly estimates and annual returns.
  • Inspect and update all documentation and systems related to accounting and company finances.
  • Help establish company best practices related to accounting.
  • Suggest thoughtful, scalable approaches to reducing costs, streamlining processes, and improving margins.
  • Evidence proficiency with standard systems and spreadsheets for invoicing and billing
  • Evidence Knowledge of standard accounting and bookkeeping principles and best practices
  • Showcase significant experience with office productivity applications, with a strong aptitude for learning new systems and approaches.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities at the same time, whether working independently or as part of a team.
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of company financial information.
