SEA is a technology led, Engineering Company who provide engineering and software design services to the defence and transport sectors. We are looking for a Finance Business Partner who has strong technical and analytical skills and wants to work closely with the Business.
The Finance Business Partner will bridge the gap between Finance and Operations providing support to Operations by transferring raw technical data into usable financial information and financial reports for the Finance department and wider business. You will love working with Excel and have the skills to write dashboards and pull together analysis of what can be very complex data.

What you’ll be doing

  • Working on specific projects that are time sensitive and will require data manipulation and preparing of information to present to the Senior Management team
  • You will use higher level functions of excel on a daily basis and transfer data from other systems into excel
  • Working closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Director you will be required to create spreadsheets, dashboards and reporting functionality to meet the evolving business needs
  • Business analytics, including performance and productivity baselining, demand analysis, activity-based costings, and benefits tracking.
  • Working with Production and Procurement to establish standard costing,purchase and material price variance analysis
  • Working with the Operations Director to understand productivity of the shop floor and justify investment in machinery and facilities as required
  • Working with the Production Manager to understand labour utilisation and efficiency
  • Oversight of the financial management of company inventory, ensuring regular physical checks (cycle counting) and appropriate valuation , obsolescence reviews and provisioning
  • Responsibility for the financial integration mapping of all transactions withing the ERP system
  • Supporting with lease/buy, make/buy, and utility contract decisions
  • Providing support to the Statutory financial Audits

 The skills you need

  • The ideal person will be CIMA/ ACCA Qualified
  • Experience in Financial planning, reporting and analysis
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a track record of identifying issues and delivering solutions
  • Ability to change data into information for management
  • You will be an advanced Excel user and be fully competent in higher end functions including creating dashboards
  • Experience in preparation and presentation of BI data in Excel for senior management teams
