Job Description
Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Guildford
Salary: £28,000 to £32,000 depending on experience
Full Time (will consider part time), Permanent
Purpose of the Role:
The Finance Assistant will maintain and reconcile the client and office bank accounts and will report to the Finance Manager.
Responsibilities will include:
- Processing all bank receipts
- Processing payments to clients
- Processing foreign currency receipts and payments
- Complete daily Bank Reconciliations
- Maintain the client ledger ensuring SRA compliance
- Respond to client queries promptly via email and telephone
- Maintain accurate client information on accounts system
- Liaising with other departments to resolve queries
- Assist with Inbox management
- Assisting Finance Manager with any ad hoc tasks
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Prior experience in a similar role with a good understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Experience with Sage 200 would be advantageous but training will be provided
- Microsoft Excel skills
- Record information accurately with good attention to detail
- Be able to prioritise work and adhere to deadlines
- Ability to work without supervision
- Have a proactive approach to problem solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be self-motivated and highly organised
