Field Service Engineer – CCTV / Surveillance

Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 per year

Pyramid8 are delighted to be working with our client to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer / CCTV Electrical Engineer / Electrical Installations Engineer / Electrical Commissioning Engineer / IT Software Engineer. Our client designs integrated end-to-end surveillance control systems for the world’s most demanding security environments.
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for commissioning and servicing Synergy 3 systems and COEX camera systems, primarily on Oil and Gas installations but also supporting other sectors. Delivering highly technical and complex hardware and software solutions to a wide variety of customers, the role requires a high degree of flexibility and initiative in order to ensure that customers receive the highest level of customer experience and that the many and varied demands of the post are prioritised and dealt with efficiently.
This role is a permanent position, working Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week. The role will be also providing a company van (for work use). There will be frequent/Yearly travel to Offshore UK and OffShore rest of the world Oil/Gas Rigs. This travel will be for periods of 2-3 weeks at a time and overtime rates are available on these occasions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Commissioning equipment on customer sites in the UK, overseas and offshore
• Installing and commissioning security systems to a pre-defined specification
• Investigating and resolving onsite faults
• Training engineers, operators, supervisors and managers on the use of the company’s solutions
• Working with the companies Technology Centre to test, validate and deliver third party software integrations
• Knowledge sharing with other engineers and engineering teams regarding specific technical information and skills learnt during the delivery of bespoke software solutions
• Acting as an ambassador for the company and taking ownership of the customer experience throughout project completion
• Liaising with the sales team for system upgrades and other development opportunities
• Develop and maintain working relationships across the company to allow effective team working
Qualifications and Experience:
• Windows based operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016
• Knowledge and experience of health and safety practices whilst working on live oil and gas industry sites
• Experience of working telecommunications equipment certified for use in hazardous environments
• Electrical Qualifications such as 17th Edition 2391 – 50 – 52
• Knowledge and experience of IP video systems and CCTV installation
• IP Networking (IP addressing, sub netting, routing, TCP,UDP, multicast)
• Qualifications and experience in electrical engineering/electronics
• Competence in Explosive Atmospheres (COMPEX)
• Knowledge and experience of electrical safety
• Microsoft qualifications (MCSA, MCSE, MCITP)
• Database knowledge (DB2, SQL)
• Experience working in a client facing technical role
• CRB Clearance

• Willing to work offshore and abroad at short notice
• Willing to work overtime and out of hours as required
