Our client is an industry leader in the manufacturer of analytical and scientific instrumentation supplied to industry, government, and academic institutions.
They are seeking an experienced Field Sales Engineer to cover southern England. Applicants must have some sales or business development experience and a degree qualification in a physical sciences subject (Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science). This is an excellent opportunity to join a best-in-class scientific instruments manufacturer with a fun, engaged and professional team of scientists, engineers, and team members. This is a home and field based role so the applicant can be based anywhere in the London, SE, SW, Midlands, East Anglia, South Yorkshire or NW.
Job Description:
Our client is hiring a Technical Field Sales Engineer to be based in the Southern UK area who will focus on selling scientific and analytical instrumentation. The position is primarily responsible for:
• The direct sale of all company products within the assigned territory.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with key and major accounts of the organization for the sales of product and services.
• Together with our Scientific Applications Team, learning our products and provide technical solutions to our customer’s analytical testing problems.
• Create a strategy to grow the assigned territory.
• Frequent overnight travel is common in this position.
Education and Experience:
• The successful candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills and must be capable of communicating equally well with technicians to PhD-level scientists.
• Individuals who possess the ability to work independently with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction do well in our business.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience successfully selling scientific equipment or services.
• The preferred candidate will possess a B.S. degree in chemistry, engineering, physics or similar field.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with differing priorities
• Experience using Salesforce
• Acceptance to travel occasional outside of UK for training and occasional on-site customer support within Europe or the United States.
