Salary: £18.82 per hour

A well-known aerospace parts supplier in North Wales are recruiting for multiple Fettlers to join their production team on a permanent basis. The roles will be based on a shift pattern at their facility near Wrexham, offering a competitive hourly rate and overtime scheme, as well as other benefits.

Reporting to the Production management team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the post-machining operation of benching to the required specification (including de-burring, fettle, buffing, filing, etc.) Other responsibilities will include:

• Ensure correct benching of components, including removal of sharp edges, cleaning of holes, using orbital sanders, and hand de-burring to drawing and SOP

• Ensure fettling of components to achieve ‘as drawn’ features

• Part mark or ident product as per specifications/instructions provided

• Provide rework rectification to any parts following machining mismatches to engineering drawings or should parts not meet Inspection standards

• Report and complete non-conformance reports for any product that does not meet specification

• Provide accurate information for the next shift if any deviation to production schedule to ensure production targets are achieved

• Undertake daily checks and maintain air tools/equipment as per work instructions provided

To be considered for these positions, you’ll be able to read measuring equipment and interpret engineering drawings, with relevant experience relating to power/air tools and bench/fettle processes. You’ll have previous working experience within a manufacturing or production environment, with a working knowledge of specifications, SOP’s and Work Instructions. Attention to detail and diligence are of huge importance, ideally with some competency demonstrated in use of an MRP system.
