Female Support Worker

We are urgently recruiting for a team of Female Support Worker with previous experience working in a hostel setting.
Previous experience working with complex needs clients group: Mental Health, Substance abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, ex offenders, street workers, Learning difficultieswith varies support needs which could range from mental health, substance misuse (Alcohol and drugs), and dual diagnoses.

The main aim of the service is to support homeless and rough sleeping women who have recognised support needs towards independence, and reduce the experience of repeat homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

In addition to normal Support Worker duties, day to day Support Worker responsibilities and activities include:

Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload including a number of customers who present with high and complex needs.
Conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals,
Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of ‘positive risk taking’.
Working innovatively and creatively in order to engage hard to reach, chaotic and complex customers.
Undertake work to ensure that highly vulnerable customers are adequately safeguarded.
Proactively develop and maintain strong links with external agencies to further support meeting the needs of the customers.
Engaging in learning and development activities to increase knowledge and skills both internally and externally relevant to the role.
Supporting customers with housing related matters. The ideal candidate

Must have previous experience in all of the above
Must be able to work shifts patterns ( 8 hours shifts between 7.30AM-10PM) including weekends and bank holidays
Must hold a Minimum Level 3 in Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent health and social care related qualification.
Ideally be available on short notice to cover shifts
You must hold a current DBS that is less than 1 year. If your DBS is not online, you will be required to apply for a new one at your own cost.
Must have a friendly proffessional attitude, be willing to go the extra mile to support the service.
