HMP Leyhill runs like a self-contained town, it takes hundreds of people to keep it functioning, and as the Facilities Maintenance Team we are committed and driving the smooth and safe operation, like a heart that pumps blood through the body, everything we do impacts every prisoner, employee, and visitor, and wider to the families and community.

As the General Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and coordinate experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners and Administrators, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.

We are growing in the provision of our on-site solutions to the prison service and want applicants with:
– A solid background in facilities management and a knowledge of software such as Planet FM and Microsoft Office
– A full UK driving licence and willingness to drive the company vehicle when required
– Planning and project management skills and an ability to drive change, with an ability to search for solutions to seemingly complex issues
– An ability to source, organise, induct and direct contractors to undertake works on behalf of the business whilst assessing their competencies and ensuring all necessary security clearances have been obtained
– Experience directly managing and leading soft services and/or multi-disciplined teams of at least 10, with confidence to influence people who are not part of your team
– A basic knowledge of HR and Recruitment principles to support interviewing and inducting candidates
